Recently I have been seeing a growing trend in my practice, a new type of repetitive stress injury, aka RSI. Some of these injuries are referred to as: Computer Neck, Smartphone Thumb, Tablet Shoulder, Texting Tendonitis.
While all of these electronics are designed to save time and reduce stress, they are actually wreaking havoc on our bodies. With over use our muscles can become in a locked state. This is when I see clients coming in with anything from rounding and stiffness of the back, shoulder pain, thumb joint pain and more. If electronic devices are a part of your life, remember to take frequent breaks and make massage a regular part of your health regime.
